Safeguarding and Pupil Welfare
The safety and wellbeing of pupils is a priority at St. Catherine's. This section outlines how we safeguard and support children, alongside key policies that guide our approach.
We are committed to creating a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels secure, valued and able to learn. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff are trained to recognise concerns, respond appropriately and act in the best interests of the child.
Our approach to safeguarding includes:
- Clear systems for reporting and responding to concerns
- Regular training for all staff and governors
- A strong culture of vigilance and professional curiosity
- Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies
- Robust procedures for safer recruitment
We know that children thrive when they feel safe and supported. Alongside safeguarding, we place a strong emphasis on pupil welfare. This includes supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, mental health, attendance and behaviour, ensuring that barriers to learning are identified and addressed early.
If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please contact the school immediately and ask to speak to a member of the safeguarding team.
