Out of School Club

St Catherine's Out of School Club is a private, independently owned before and after school club which operates at St Catherine's Primary School during term time only. It works in partnership with all the staff at the school to provide a safe, caring and fun environment for the children who attend. The Club is registered with Ofsted (EY408225) to accept up to 32 children aged between 3-11 years old.

The Club aims to provide:

  • Convenient on-site before and after school care at St Catherine's Primary School
  • Good quality, affordable childcare which meets the needs of parents/guardians, and helps to balance the demands of both family life with work.
  • A stimulating, safe and caring environment where parents/guardians have trust in and are confident with the service provided
  • Be inclusive and promote the principles of diversity and equality
Opening hours
  • The before school club operates from 7.30am until 8.50am
  • The after school club operates from 3.15pm until 6.00pm

Breakfast is served until 8.30am of a morning. A range of breakfasts will be served which will compliment the school’s policy on healthy food. A variety of healthy snacks is offered to children attending the after school club. Children are encouraged to plan and assist in preparing these meals.

Booking Sessions

Sessions are secured on a pre bookable basis. Parents/Guardians are able to choose a combination of sessions either morning or afternoon (or both) during the school week. Two weeks’ notice must be given in writing to make an alteration to pre booked places. Payment is made two weeks in advance either by cash, cheque, childcare voucher or directly into the Club bank account. Extra sessions used must be paid for in cash on the day of usage.

Acceptance of a place is a commitment to the payment of fees (even if the child does not attend their booked session). Payment is still required for your child’s place irrespective of whether they attend or not due to illness or school/family holidays that occur during term time.

Weekly indoor and outdoor activities are planned for the children including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Team games
  • Role play
  • Cooking
  • Talent takeoff
  • Bingo & quiz nights

Children also have the opportunity throughout the year to participate in sessions with external providers (included in fees) such as:

  • Bollywood dance
  • Fundamentals
  • Multi skills course
  • Tennis lessons
Keeping in Touch

Parents/Guardians are able to speak with staff at anytime about their child on arrival in the Club. Appointments can be made for more detailed discussions. The Club board provides information on weekly activities, menu, and contact details. It also showcases children’s work.

Early Years (EY) log books are completed for children under 5 years old. Parents are asked to complete an EY sheet (contained in the registration pack) when their child joins the Club (only for children under 5) to provide some background information on their child. The EY log books can be viewed at anytime. During July there is a pop in week in which parents are allocated 10 minute slots when they can discuss their child’s overall development in Club in more detail.

A termly newsletter is circulated to parents/guardians, and customers are asked to complete an annual customer satisfaction survey. Parents/guardians are also invited periodically to become a member of a bi yearly improvement group. Letters may also be sent out from time to time.
